The short answer

ARHT Media Inc., the Toronto-listed holographic-telepresence company, filed an assignment in bankruptcy effective 3 October 2024 and announced it on 4 October 2024. Employees and contractors were laid off, operations ended, the board resigned and MNP Ltd. became trustee. Subsidiaries in the US, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong were included. ARHT said it could not secure the financing needed to reach large-scale rollouts.

Why it matters for the category

ARHT’s decade of deployments is the strongest third-party evidence that organisations buy and permanently install holographic telepresence: defence and government, business schools, enterprise offices, luxury retail, public research. The category did not fail in October 2024 — one vendor’s financing did. The installed base and the validated use cases remain, now looking for current suppliers.

HEREweHOLO’s own place in that history is practical rather than corporate: ARHT had CAPSULE units built, configured and shipped from The Hague by parent company Vision 2 Watch under purchase orders until the very end — the basis for the support and migration route that exists today.

Frequently asked questions

When did ARHT Media go bankrupt?

ARHT Media Inc. filed an assignment in bankruptcy under Canada’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act effective 3 October 2024 and announced it publicly on 4 October 2024. Operations ended that day.

Who handles the ARHT bankruptcy?

MNP Ltd. was appointed Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Creditors and other parties can find the official engagement information on MNP’s website.

Did anyone take over ARHT Media?

No acquirer of ARHT’s business as a going concern has been publicly announced as of August 2026. HEREweHOLO has not acquired ARHT, its intellectual property or its installed base. Its parent company Vision 2 Watch did build and ship CAPSULE units for ARHT under purchase orders until the bankruptcy — which is why HEREweHOLO now supports organisations that previously used or evaluated ARHT technology.
