The short answer
The supported alternative to ARHT HoloPresence in 2026 is live holographic telepresence on current hardware: the HEREweHOLO Holobox for life-size two-way appearances — camera and microphone built in — and the Holowall for stage-scale formats. Published prices, in-house production in the Netherlands, and no dependency on the ARHT ecosystem, which has been without a vendor since October 2024.
The use case HoloPresence proved
ARHT’s public deployments established that live holographic telepresence works at enterprise scale and why organisations pay for it: NATO installed HoloPresence systems at training facilities in Norfolk, Virginia and Germany to bring remote experts into the room and cut training travel (2021). IMD Business School installed it at its Lausanne and Singapore campuses for executive education and remote faculty (2022, announced by IMD itself). WeWork rolled it out for enterprise events and meetings. At the Singapore Defense Technology Summit, ServiceNow’s CEO delivered a keynote in Singapore from San Francisco (2023).
All of those were ARHT deployments — we cite them as category history with sources below, not as our own references.
What live telepresence looks like on current hardware
- Two-way by default. The Holobox has camera and microphone in the enclosure: the remote speaker sees and hears the room and answers in real time — no separate capture room required for conversational formats. See live hologram presentations.
- Life-size presence. Transparent 4K LCD behind anti-reflective glass (±99% light transmission) makes the speaker read as present, not as a screen.
- Stage formats. The Holowall scales from 2 to 5 panels for keynotes and large rooms.
- Beyond live. The same unit plays prerecorded 4K content and runs interactive AI avatars, so the hardware works between live sessions.
- Buy or rent. Holobox from €27,500 published on the pricing page; rental bridges single events, exactly the pilot-first pattern ARHT’s market history shows.
Migrating from a HoloPresence environment
Locations, event formats and often the content plan carry over. The ARHT software platform does not, and we make no promises about it. CAPSULE display hardware is the exception: ARHT had those units built in The Hague by our parent company Vision 2 Watch, so they can often be serviced or reused — the assessment covers this. The ARHT support & migration assessment reviews your live workflow — capture, audio, network, operator — and states what to retain, migrate or replace.

Frequently asked questions
What did ARHT HoloPresence do?
It let a remote speaker appear live and life-size in front of an audience, with two-way interaction and low latency. Publicly announced deployments included NATO training facilities in Norfolk, Virginia and Germany (2021), the IMD Business School campuses in Lausanne and Singapore (2022), WeWork locations, and keynotes such as ServiceNow’s CEO appearing in Singapore from San Francisco (2023).
Do I need a capture studio for live telepresence now?
For a two-way conversation on the Holobox, no: camera and microphone are built into the unit, so a session runs between two units or from a well-lit room with our capture guidance. For stage productions, a controlled capture setup on the speaker’s side still improves the result; we advise per production.
Can it scale to a stage or large venue?
Yes. The Holowall combines 2 to 5 panels into a holographic canvas for large rooms and stages (€63,000 for 3 units); single-speaker formats run on the Holobox. Events can rent; permanent venues buy.
