How this list was compiled
Included are suppliers that sell life-size or large-format hologram displays to businesses in Europe and publish enough about their products to compare them. Every statement about a third party comes from that company's own website or from public reporting, with the date we checked it in the sources at the bottom; prices are copied as published and can change. HEREweHOLO compiles and maintains this list and is itself one of the suppliers on it, which is why we stick to verifiable facts and do not rank competitors on quality we cannot measure.
1. HEREweHOLO (Netherlands)
Manufacturer of the HEREweHOLO Holobox, Holowall and Holomini, based in The Hague and continuously operating as part of Vision 2 Watch. Units are assembled in-house: transparent 4K LCD panels with the company's own light-box engineering, behind hardened anti-reflective glass with circa 99% light transmission, camera and microphone built in, plug & play within an hour.
Pricing is published: Holobox from €27,500, Holomini €5,200, Holowall €63,000 (price for 3 units), one-time software licence €720, no vendor lock-in. Rental is quoted per situation. European deployments include Brussels Airport and Proximus in Belgium, ISE Barcelona in Spain and AFAS, NIMETO and the Dutch national police in the Netherlands; the police cold-case hologram and national television appearances (Het Klokhuis) are documented on the site.
Full disclosure: this list is compiled and maintained by HEREweHOLO. Competitors are included and described factually, with sources and a reference date below.
2. Holoconnects (Netherlands)
Dutch supplier from Culemborg whose flagship product is also called Holobox (86-inch), alongside a Holobox Mini and additional formats. Holoconnects has demonstrably delivered good technology and has published deployments across several sectors, and works with its own Holocontrol management platform. Published starting prices, excluding VAT (checked 29 September 2026): 22-inch €4,500, 43-inch €9,000, 75-inch €18,500, 86-inch Holobox €25,000 and a two-unit Hologrid wall €45,000; available to buy, lease or rent.
Relevant for buyers in 2026: Holoconnects Netherlands B.V. was declared bankrupt in April 2026; according to its own website, Holoconnects now operates under new ownership (Filigree Labs B.V.) and is fully active (checked 29 September 2026). Buyers should ask the usual due-diligence questions about warranty on units delivered before April 2026 and about current support arrangements, as with any supplier. See the detailed comparison linked below.
3. Proto (United States, active in Europe)
American manufacturer from Los Angeles, known for the life-size Proto Luma (86-inch) and the compact Proto M2, with strong media visibility and celebrity activations, retail and telepresence deployments. Prices are on request per configuration.
Proto's support base is North-America-first, with international partners for other regions. For a European deployment, factor in the support distance and time-zone difference; for a North American one, Proto is the local party.
4. HYPERVSN (rotor-LED, different technique)
HYPERVSN supplies the SmartV Solo units and the SmartV Wall: rotor-LED devices that draw an image in the air with LEDs on spinning blades, sold through its own store and resellers, with the HYPERVSN Software Suite and a stated brightness of up to 3,000 nits.
Strictly speaking this is a different display category than a holobox cabinet: rotor-LED excels at logos and 3D shapes viewed from a distance and at height, while a transparent-LCD cabinet is built for life-size people at eye level, close viewing and interaction. It is on this list because buyers often compare the two; the technique comparison linked below covers when to choose which.
How to choose between them
- Decide the job first: life-size people at eye level with interaction (holobox cabinet) or eye-catching shapes at a distance (rotor-LED).
- Ask every supplier for continuity evidence: organisation, support team, stock and what happens to warranty and software if the company changes hands.
- Compare pricing transparency: published prices make budgeting and comparison possible before the first call.
- Check the software model: one-time licence versus subscription platform, and who owns your content.
- Ask for deployments you can verify, ideally in your own country or sector.
