The short answer
ARHT Media, long the best-known name in holographic telepresence, filed for bankruptcy on 4 October 2024 and ended operations. HEREweHOLO is a Dutch manufacturer of life-size hologram displays, operating continuously as part of Vision 2 Watch: the Holobox covers ARHT’s core use cases — live telepresence, prerecorded 4K content and AI avatars — with published prices, in-house production in The Hague and a documented migration route for former ARHT environments.
What happened to ARHT Media?
On 4 October 2024 ARHT Media Inc. announced that it had filed an assignment in bankruptcy under Canada’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, effective 3 October 2024. Employees and contractors were laid off, operations ended, the board resigned and MNP Ltd. was appointed trustee. The process also covered the subsidiaries ARHT Media USA, ARHT Media UK, ARHT Media Singapore and ARHT Asia (Hong Kong). ARHT stated it had reduced costs but could not secure the financing needed to reach large-scale rollouts. The full timeline is on our page what happened to ARHT Media.
The result: organisations that bought or evaluated HoloPresence, CAPSULE or HoloPod systems were left without a vendor, and buyers searching for holographic telepresence lost the category’s reference name.
What ARHT historically provided
ARHT built an ecosystem around life-size holographic telepresence: HoloPresence stage systems for live two-way appearances, the CAPSULE free-standing display, the smaller HoloPod, and a network of capture studios. By its FY2022 results, ARHT reported a permanent network of more than 50 locations, including 19 in partnership with WeWork.
That history matters for one reason: it proves organisations worldwide were already buying and permanently deploying holographic telepresence. The deployments below were ARHT projects — not HEREweHOLO projects — and each carries its original source:
| Organisation | What ARHT announced | Year |
|---|---|---|
| NATO (Allied Command Transformation) | HoloPresence systems at facilities in Norfolk, Virginia and Germany for training and remote expertise | 2021 |
| IMD Business School | Live hologram technology at the Lausanne and Singapore campuses for executive education (announced by IMD itself) | 2022 |
| WeWork | Initial rollout to 16 locations with plans for up to 100 buildings; 19 locations reported by FY2022 | 2021–2022 |
| UQTR (Québec) | 13 systems — 5 CAPSULE displays and 8 capture studios — and a research programme worth over $900,000 for vocational training | 2024 |
| A global luxury brand (never publicly named) | From 11 events to permanent CAPSULE deployments at five country headquarters on three continents | 2024 |
How HEREweHOLO covers the same use cases today
- Life-size holographic display. The Holobox: a transparent 4K LCD assembled in-house in The Hague, behind tempered anti-reflective glass with around 99% light transmission.
- Live two-way telepresence. Camera and microphone are built into the unit itself: one enclosure, plug & play, a real conversation with the room. See live hologram presentations.
- Prerecorded 4K content. Content production is done in-house; your content remains yours.
- AI avatars and digital humans. Interactive AI presenters on the same hardware. See AI avatar & digital twin.
- Touch and interaction. Touchscreen options for retail, reception and education setups.
- Purchase or rental. Published purchase prices (Holobox from €27,500 · Holomini €5,200 · Holowall €63,000 (3 units), one-time software licence €720) on the pricing page; rental depending on duration, transport and content.
- No vendor lock-in. The software licence is a one-time payment; content does not depend on a subscription platform — a relevant lesson after a vendor exit.
- Migration assessment. A structured intake for former ARHT environments: what can be retained, migrated or replaced. See ARHT support & migration.
European installations include Brussels Airport, Proximus, AFAS and ISE Barcelona, plus appearances on Dutch national television. Product details: the Holobox.
Our first-hand ARHT experience
This part is administration, not marketing: ARHT Media had CAPSULE units built, configured and prepared for worldwide shipment in The Hague by HEREweHOLO’s parent company Vision 2 Watch, under ARHT purchase orders — including an order for eight CAPSULE displays in late 2023 — and Vision 2 Watch stored ARHT equipment and handled logistics for European deployments until ARHT’s bankruptcy in October 2024.
Practically, that means the hardware class we assess in a migration is hardware we know from the inside — and for the CAPSULE line, genuine spare parts and repairs remain available.

Frequently asked questions
Is ARHT Media still in business?
No. ARHT Media Inc. announced on 4 October 2024 that it had filed for bankruptcy under Canada’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Operations ended, employees were laid off and the process also covered its subsidiaries in the US, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong. MNP Ltd. acts as trustee.
Is HEREweHOLO an alternative to ARHT Media?
For the core use cases, yes: life-size holographic display, live two-way telepresence with built-in camera and microphone, prerecorded 4K content and AI-driven digital humans. HEREweHOLO assembles its units in-house in The Hague, publishes fixed purchase prices and operates without vendor lock-in. HEREweHOLO has not acquired ARHT Media, its intellectual property or its installed base — but the ARHT ecosystem is familiar territory: parent company Vision 2 Watch built and shipped CAPSULE units for ARHT under ARHT purchase orders until the bankruptcy.
Can an existing ARHT installation be migrated?
Often the location, the use case and the content plan can be carried over; ARHT’s software platform usually cannot. We assess each environment and state honestly what can be retained, migrated or replaced. CAPSULE units are a special case: they were built and configured in The Hague by our parent company Vision 2 Watch, so genuine spare parts and repairs remain available. See the ARHT support and migration page for the assessment steps.
What does a HEREweHOLO Holobox cost?
Published purchase prices: from €27,500 for the Holobox, €5,200 for the Holomini and €63,000 for the Holowall (price for 3 units), with a one-time software licence of €720. Rental is available depending on duration, transport and content.
